What is Reiki? Some humans have had the pleasure of experiencing this ancient Japanese practice of energy. “Rei” mean universal life force and “ki” means life force much like qi, prana, or mana.
Have you ever tried to hold an invisible ball between your hands and feel the energy that pushes them apart? That’s the energy that is permeating through you and it has healing properties. Believe it or not, you can practice on yourself and focus the energy to where you direct it, usually your hands either direct/indirect touch. With practice, like everything else, it will become more apparent to you. This is one type of energy I harness for healing.
The practice becomes more intuitive over time and can be used along the meridian lines or chakra lines utilized in acupuncture (Chinese medicine) and in yoga. All these modalities go hand-in-hand, that’s why I love it! It solely aligns with how I practice on the daily. A treatment is called an “attunement”. And when you get really good at harnessing this energy, you can actually send it to others through space. I know it sounds crazy, but there’s a lot of truth and benefits to it. Animals are not judgmental (maybe some are) and are so sensitive to energy because their subconscious is not saying, “What’s this woowoo ish?” Did you know that our minds operate on 85% subconscious and the smaller portion is actual conscious thinking? It’s really quite alarming if you ask me! Animals either respond or they don’t, there’s no placebo effect here. Next time your dog likes someone a lot or not at all, think of this energy that they are either gravitating to or not. They are the best judges of character!!!
These are a few affirmations that are regarded as Reiki principles:
- Just for today, I will not be angry
- Just for today, I will not worry
- Just for today, I will be grateful for my many blessings
- Just for today, I will do my work honestly
- Just for today, I will be kind to others and to all living things
Try it out! It can help you and your pet! I can teach you how to do self treatments and some for your pets in further blogs.
